The Canoe England Capital Grants forum was held at the Sport England offices, London 30th January, for clubs looking to develop their clubhouse of facility either now or in the future.
Representatives from Canoe England were joined by Sport England experts Emma Bernstein and Victoria Pace with additional workshops being run by Trevor Hancock from S&P Architects and David Hemsley from Ibex Environmental.
Nearly fifty people from 23 different clubs came to hear advice on developing new or existing facilities including gaining partnership funding; planning consents and tendering. S
enior Development Officer, Stuart Briggs also provided a valuable insight into the planning and building of Burton Canoe Club’s new facility.
