Canoe England Regional Volunteer & Recognition Awards 2013

Nominations are now open with a closing date of Friday, 28th June 2013.
All regional winners will be nominated for the Canoe England National Awards 2013 which will be held later this year.

COMMUNITY SPORT AND RECREATION AWARDS 2013
The 2013 Sport and Recreation Alliance Community Sport and Recreation Awards nominations are now open. There are several categories of awards, designed to highlight the breadth of work that is undertaken in the community sport and recreation sector. Any clubs wishing to enter for this award will need a supporting letter from either the NGB or local CSP. Please contact volunteers@canoe-england.org.uk if you would like to nominate your club.

JANUARY 2013
Canoe England Club Forums will be running across the country throughout February and March. Talking Sport will deliver the morning workshop, their seminars offer volunteers a new and stimulating way of learning about key topics and developing key skills to help succeed and thrive in their roles. In the afternoon there is a choice of two workshops - A Safety Module Workshop will provide role specific event/activity management training. The alternative afternoon workshop is a Time to Listen Course designed to equip those with a designated child protection role at clubs with information to fulfill their role.

Volunteer & Recognition Awards 2012
The sixth volunteer and recognition awards took place on October 27th at Eastwood Hall, Nottingham. Over 150 guests joined Olympic heroes Etienne Stott, David Florence and Liam Heath and Paracanoe champions Jeanette Chippington and Pat Mahoney to celebrate their volunteering achievements. FALCON CANOEING AND ROWING CLUB RECEIVE QUEENS AWARD
Congratulations to The Falcon Canoeing and Rowing Club, based in Oxford, who has won the covated Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.
The award was created in 2002 to mark the Golden Jubilee, recognising outstanding contributions by groups of volunteers. For a voluntary group, it is the equivalent of getting an MBE!
