Canoe England recommends DBS applicants subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
The DBS Update Service is a new online government service which, once subscribed to, allows an individual’s DBS Certificate to be kept up to date for as long as they are subscribed or until new information is added to the Certificate; enabling it to be taken from role to role, within the same workforce, where the same level of check is required. 
An annual subscription fee of £13 is required to join the DBS Update Service, unless you are joining with a DBS Certificate for a voluntary position in which case it is free. 
An individual can join the DBS Update Service at point of application or within 14 days of receipt of their DBS Certificate.

If you choose to subscribe to the DBS Update Service and would like to use the service to replace the need to complete additional DBS applications for your organisation in the future* you will need to inform Canoe England by completing a DBS Status Check Authorisation Form
