What is Course Registration?

This is your registration with Canoe England, the process checks you are eligible for the course you wish to attend, and it allows us to send you your course resources. Canoe England continue to record and track your progress through the awards, holding detailed information on all your qualifications.

How do I Register for a BCU Coach Course?

1. Please read the registration guidance notes BCU Coach Registration Guidance Notes (V2-2)
2. Check you have all of the prerequisites BCU Registration Prerequisites (V3-7)
3. Complete and return the CR Form BCU Coach Registration (CR) Form (V8-0)

(allow a minimum of 14 days before attending your course)

What happens after I return my Registration (CR) Form?

Your details will be entered onto our system and your prerequisites checked. Presuming everything is in order your CR Form will be returned to you (authorised and stamped); you then need to take this with you to your Course and hand it over to your course Director. You will also receive a Candidate Pack with further details about the course you have registered for.

Who is the Medical Declaration for?

Coaches need to be fit and able to perform the job. The BCU Statement of Physical Competence requires coaches to declare any medical conditions that may impair their ability to be responsible for the overall safety of others, when completing the CR Form. The declaring of impairments does not necessarily debar a person from coaching; certain working conditions may be established to ensure you can maintain your responsibilities. This helps protect coaches, and is a mechanism by which the BCU can support those individuals with specific medical conditions. If you need to declare a medical condition return the Medical Declaration Form to Canoe England. BCU Coach Medical Declaration Form (V1-0)
