TEAM GB CANOE & KAYAK 2012 HOPEFULS AUSTRALIA BOUND
Eight young canoeing athletes have been selected to represent Team GB at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) in Sydney from 14-18 January 2009.
The Spring Racing athletes are:
Abigail Edmonds - 18 years old from  Guilford
Tom Hide - 18 years old from  Hampton Hill
Edward Rutherford - 18 years old from  Weybridge
Jessica Walker - 18 years old from  Hampton Hill
All four Flat Water Racers were finalists at the Junior Europeans

What it Takes to be a Great Athlete 
It was a cold winter’s day in England when I met Ian Wynne. Not an overly tall man, I knew instantly who he was when he entered the room. Although wrapped up in a large fleece with a ‘beanie hat’ covering his bald head, like many great athletes he undoubtedly had ‘presence’ – that almost indefinable quality that attaches itself to those who are masters of their sport or art.
