Coaches / Assistant Coaches / Volunteers - All Clubs
If you are interested in volunteering in your area then get in touch! Clubs are always looking for willing and enthusiastic volunteers who can lend a hand and utilise their skills in a club setting. From coaches to club secretary, clubs will welcome you into their voluntary team. Do you have special skills which could help a club? Are you an accountant who could help as treasurer? Do you have IT / design skills which could help a club put together a website or club leaflet?

BCU Sprint Racing's National Regattas - Volunteer Assistance for Start Gate System
The Start Gates system curently used at all the National Sprint Regattas at the National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham are maintained and installed by the World Class Programmes.

The BCU Sprint Racing Committee would like to train two or three volunteers from the wider canoeing community to assist with the operation, assembly, installation and removal of the gates before and after a regatta.

This is an excellent opportunity to get involved in the Sprint Regattas with a long term possibility towards eventually leading an assembly team. If you are interested in this role and would like more information please contact the
Volunteer Development Officer or David Enoch.


Funding available for Cornwall Coaches
Cornwall Sports Partnership have some funding available to help with coach training aimed at people who are not already coaches to fund the whole cost of a BCU UKCC Level One course up to a maximum of £150. Once accepted on the course, you will also be entitled to other free training including Safeguarding & Protecting Children; Emergency First Aid and Equity in your Coaching.

There will be also the opportunity for more senior coaches at the club to attend a mentoring workshop so they can help with coach development within the club.
