Courses and Workshops

A number of organisations and county sports partnerships run additional workshops and courses which are beneficial to volunteers in order to develop existing and learn new skills. Those listed below provide an overview on the courses available along with any recent updates on workshop calendars.

Please note that this is not a complete list and only those which Canoe England have been made aware of.

runningsports Workshops:
runningsports is dedicated to providing skills and support for volunteers working in all sports. They provide online tips and tools and informative workshops:

  • Club for All - how to reach all members of the community and the benefits;
  • Action Planning for your Club - how to plan effectively for your clubs future;
  • Developing Partnerships with Clubs and Schools - guide for sports volunteers;
  • Awards for All - how to access a particular source of funding;
  • Funding for your Club - ideas and advice on raising money for your club/organisation;
  • How to get Tax Breaks for your Club - achieving Community Amateur Sports Club;
  • Making the most of you Volunteers - workforce development planning;
  • The Role of the Volunteer Coordinator - the crucial role of overseeing club volunteers;
  • Valuing your Volunteers - how to recruit, retain, recognise, and reward your volunteers.

sports coach UK:
sports coach UK provide a number of workshops to develop coaching skills for coaches; the coach education workforce, coach managers and much more. Workshops include Safeguarding & Protecting Children.

County Sports Partnerships
County Sports Partnership across the country organise workshops for local volunteers. These include a variety of different workshops including those listed above. Canoe England will promote any workshops which are available to volunteers below - other courses will be available but we can only promote those which we are aware of.
