The Mini Sprint Series is a series of four regattas timed to run alongside the National Sprint Regattas held at Holme Pierrepont in Nottingham.
The events take place during the May, June, July and September regattas with racing now fully integrated into the regatta programme. Paddlers compete over 500 metres and 1K in Lightning K1, Mini K2 and the Rocket K4.
The Mini Sprint Series has been specifically developed to suit the needs of young people aged under 12, setting the foundation to help them progress into whichever discipline of Paddlesport they like! The programme has taken into account that full sized K1s, K2s and K4s are too big for young people, so together with the Canoe England Paddlesport Participation Programme and the BCU Sprint Racing Committee, we developed the Mini Sprint Series which has evolved from the Lightning Series.
